IF I HAVE NOT REPLIED

When I checked my blog email, I found that I'd lost a bit of mail because I had been inactive. If you check back in and see this message, could you resend please please please.

By midday tomorrow, the Words and Music festival will draw to a close and I will travel to Los Angeles to stay with writer friends for a week. The program of music of music was amazing. Music by Elias Bareiro and a wonderful recital by Fransesc de Paula Soler. Readings from Lorca.

I was woefully ignorant of so much of the Spanish and Latin American writing that was presented at this festival and found the events fascinating. The Literature Lunch sessions took place in carefully selected restaurants and there was so much history, culture and politics related to New Orleans that took me by surprise in a great way.

Some wonderful writers from the event and their books:

Ana Castilo's novel written in poetry Watercolor Women Opaque Men

Marie Arana's memoir American Chica and related novel Cellophane
